i am fortunate enough to have scored a spot on pin it forward, an event created by the rdiculously inspiring sfgirlbybay and showcasing pinterest, a new 'virtual inspirational board' of sorts.
the theme of pin it forward is 'what home means to you.' the idea of 'home' is an interesting one, and more difficult for me to define than i thought it would be. there is the physical home, and the conceptual one.
i do long for a house that is a home, a place that feels permanent and familiar and present, like some fictional homestead of old. i would love to find a place to create my own version of this, a house where friends and family alike could gather and celebrate. a place that is warm and cozy and sparkly, no matter the season, but especially when winter crystallizes outside and warmth crackle within.

there would be music and food and books and games.
it would feel like hogwarts, and the magic would be real somehow.
i don't have this place. it is a dream of house and home. i might never actually find this place. so no matter how many lovely, dreamy ideas i have of it, no matter how many decor inspirations and clippings and websites i bookmark and collect, the only real part of my home is the people in it.
my only real home, no matter how cheesy it may sound, is the people i love.
